About Us

The world’s leading supplier of entertainment and event technology, PRG currently operates from 31 locations in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.  Our facilities include over 1.5 million square feet of warehouse space that house our state-of-the-art inventory of audio, video, lighting, rigging, scenery and automation equipment.

Worldwide, we have nearly 1,500 full-time employees and engage as many as 3,000 freelance technicians annually, depending upon our event schedule.

PRG serves a range of markets for a diversified customer base. Approximately 25 percent of our revenue comes from corporate events and trade shows, 25 percent from theatre, 20 percent from television and film, and the balance from concert touring, special events, and sales and integration (permanent installations of entertainment systems and boxed goods sales).

Our company is uniquely qualified to provide the resources and services customers need at any and all sites, efficiently and cost effectively. Our staff offers years of experience serving the specialized needs of each of our markets. For a given market, we can provide a single discipline, such as lighting, audio or video, or we can bundle disciplines for an integrated solution that meets the needs of the entire project.

From its earliest years, PRG has been committed to product innovation. In 1988, we introduced our patented Stage Command System® motion control system on Phantom of the Opera, ushering in the modern era of stage automation. In 1998, the acquisition of Light & Sound Design (LSD) brought us the team responsible for the Icon® automated fixture line and the Icon® lighting control console, and our 2004 acquisition of VLPS® Lighting Services brought us the team that invented the Vari*Lite® automated luminaire, revolutionizing the entertainment lighting industry. In 2009, PRG debuted its Bad Boy™ large-venue automated luminaire.  Featured on projects such as U2’s 360° tour, as well as American Idol and the Grammy® Awards, Bad Boy was honored as Live Design’s Product of the Year and received the Rock Our World new technology award from the Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA).  PRG’s extensive intellectual property portfolio includes technologies licensed to leading manufacturers, including Barco and High End Systems.

PRG’s worldwide rental inventory includes more than $500 million of equipment — the largest inventory of any supplier.  Our equipment assets include audio, video, lighting, LED, scenery, automation and rigging.  We continually evaluate and update our inventory to assure that the most up-to-date equipment is available to our customers, replacing some $35 million in equipment each year.
