Technical Designer
Designs and drafts elegant solutions for challenging mechanical effects.
Prior to joining PRG Matt served as the Assistant Technical Director at the Long Wharf Theatre (New Haven, CT) where he engineered, drafted and coordinated the scenic and mechanical elements for over 30 productions. Over the past 15 years, Matt has worked as a freelance TD, carpenter, electrician, sound designer, and assistant scenic designer in places such as Washington, D.C., New York City, Maryland; West Virginia; Colorado; Pennsylvania; and Central Illinois. Some of the high points include working with the Smithsonian Institution, Broadway’s August: Osage County, Adrian Hall, Eugene Lee, Michael Yergin, and Anna Devere Smith.
Matt holds a M.F.A. in Technical Production from the Professional Theatre Training Program at the University of Delaware, and a B.S. in Theatrical Design and Production from the University of Illinois.
While not working on mechanical effects, Matt enjoys reading schlock sci-fi, strong coffee, baking bread, cooking, rock climbing, computer programming and playing the banjo.
