PRG lighting solutions add affordable pizzazz to club venues.
The Challenge: Boost a legendary music venue to a new level
The Solution: In a market where great music is the norm, club owner Daniel Slezinger understands the value of bringing something extra to the audience experience. Three years ago, he installed 16 Clay Paky fixtures at his legendary 12th and Porter club, making it the first in Nashville to feature moving lights. In summer 2008, he added 12 more Clay Pakys, controlled by a MagicQ 100 Pro console from ChamSys Ltd.
Slezinger’s upgrades give the club a big edge in Nashville’s competitive live music scene, he believes. “When bands want to look and sound their best, they choose 12th and Porter because of the Clay Pakys. And fans are more excited to spend their hard-earned money to see a professional production.”
In addition to bringing even more energy and excitement to the shows, the new system makes the 12th and Porter stage the ideal location for shooting live music videos, DVDs, EPKs and other tools for performers, he says. “The lights are very efficient and quiet — plus all the colors in the lights match, which is very important to the way the videos look. The Clay Pakys have added a new element of art to the content.”
Slezinger also praises the modest cost of the Clay Paky fixtures and MagicQ console. “They’re very affordable for our 335-seat club. Given everything they’ve done for us, they’re a great investment.”
Clay Paky fixtures and MagicQ consoles are exclusively available in the United States through PRG Distribution, a division of Production Resource Group (PRG).
