PRG’s out-of-the-box solutions mean better results for our clients - and their customers.
Challenge:
Find a better, more cost-effective way to produce a custom product.
Solution:
LED Panels from FlagHouse provide important sensory stimulation and enrichment for children and adults with special needs. Designed for different therapeutic goals, the 45-inch by 29-inch panels are used in sensory rooms in schools, nursing homes and other facilities.
PRG helped FlagHouse make the panels more available and affordable by re-engineering them so they could be mass produced. “Previously, panels for different purposes came in different shaps and sizes and had to be custom manufactured. We took three of their popular models and integrated them into a product family. Each model still has its individual features, but they share the same basic design and dimensions,” recalls Robert Kliegl, PRG national account executive and retail solutions specialist.
By streamlining the design and standardizing the engineering processes, PRG helped FlagHouse reduce the cost of the screens by 40 percent, while cutting the time needed to produce them. “This means that a lot more people will be able to benefit from them,” notes Kliegl.
Kliegl worked with Bruce McFarlane, another PRG national account executive, to develop the improved processes. “They were great to work with,” says Diana Hohmann, Sensory Solutions brand manager for FlagHouse. “They were extremely open to our ideas and had some great ones of their own.”
“Instead of just trying to save a dollar, we thought about how we could improve the product line,” adds Kliegl. “By looking at the different models as a family, we helped them add some pizzazz, build brand identification - and reduce costs, too.”
