PRG’s service and solutions cut Canon’s big challenges down to size.

Challenge:
Help a top designer stay ahead of a client’s changing needs.

Solution:
For lighting designer Gene Lenahan of Second Sight, Canon U.S.A.’s Digital Solutions Forum is an opportunity to make a strong creative impact in a really big show. But there also are plenty of challenges, including multiple changes and a tight load-in schedule.

That’s why Lenahan calls on PRG for this event and virtually all his big-show needs. “PRG’s inventory is seemingly endless, and they always work within your budget,? he says. “Their account executives are great at offering solutions to solve tricky problems.?

Canon’s 2007 Forum at Chicago’s McCormick Place spanned 75,000 square feet of exhibit space and featured a press conference, keynote presentation and concert by Michael McDonald. Lenahan’s plan was to use the latest technology in conventional and unconventional ways to focus attention on the Canon brand — for example, integrating automated and LED lighting on massive white walls to create a “wow factor? frame for a featured product. In all, PRG supplied 2,030 conventional and 180 automated lights plus 325 LED fixtures and almost 5,000 feet of truss for the event.

“With an ever-changing exhibit layout, the plot couldn’t be finalized until three weeks before load-in. We had major changes every four to five days, including during shop prep,? Lenahan recalls. “Producer Mark Rubinsky of MJM Creative Services was great at communicating the client’s wishes, and PRG secured everything without batting an eye.?

Results couldn’t have been better, reports programmer Ken Jones, Lenahan’s partner at Second Sight. “We were on schedule, on budget, and the client loved the way everything looked.?
