PRG exceeds trade show clients’ expectations with market experience and multi-discipline expertise.
The Challenge: Provide a completely integrated equipment package – audio, video, lighting, rigging, as well as installation services, on a highly time-sensitive project.
The Solution: Production Resource Group (PRG) supplied H.B. Stubbs Companies with a full production package for their design for the General Dynamics Combat Systems’ booth at the 2009 Association of the United States Army (AUSA) trade show. General Dynamics is a global leader in producing, supporting and sustaining land and expeditionary combat systems for the U.S. military and its allies, so it is no surprise that they required the same high level of precision and planning for their AUSA booth.
Working closely with Karl Oskoian, Director, Communications and Public Relations, General Dynamics Land Systems, H.B. Stubbs designed and fabricated two booths, which spanned an aisle and included two tank-size (45,000+lbs) demonstrators at the Washington DC convention center. H.B. Stubbs contracted PRG to handle all their production needs. “I think that PRG’s expertise in audio, video, lighting and rigging made them the right choice for this project,” said Al Przeklas, Senior Account Executive, H.B. Stubbs.
PRG provided an integrated, multi-discipline system that addressed challenges such as rigging and cabling the LED elements and control. The Philips Color Kinetics LED products spanned both booths, displaying synchronized color effects. PRG supplied and installed a wireless SHoW DMX™ system from City Theatrical. Both the automated fixtures and the LEDs were controlled via the ChamSys MagicQ lighting console. PRG also provided a lipstick camera that was mounted inside the tank turret, which fed a video signal to a 50” monitor and the LED wall.
H.B Stubbs, PRG and show contractor GES developed a precise installation plan, which was particularly critical due to the requirement to install the two tank demonstrators. PRG Account Manager and Lighting Designer Norm Piaskowski explained, “One of the challenges of this job was the need to get the logistics right; there were a lot of timing issues. We all had to do a lot more pre-planning and coordination.”
PRG’s client, H.B. Stubbs, was pleased with the final result. “I was very happy with PRG, as was General Dynamics,” commented H.B. Stubbs’ Przeklas. “It was a very successful endeavor for all of us.”
