Director of Technical Design, Scenic
Based in PRG’s New Windsor office, Jim leads a talented group of designers in providing technical solutions for all markets, and develops many of PRG’s stock mechanical products and devices.Jim has a BFA in Scene Design from Carnegie-Mellon and an MFA in Technical Design & Production from Yale University.
Prior to joining PRG, Jim worked as a technical director in live theatre and as a union studio mechanic in film and television. Since arriving in New Windsor in 1997, Jim has specified thousands of effects for over five hundred shows including: Spider-man, Wicked, 42nd Street, The Producers, Contact, Ragtime, The Lion King, Titanic, Phantom of the Opera, Little Shop of Horrors, All Shook Up, Light in the Piazza, South Pacific, Sound of Music, Tarzan, Nine to Five, The Full Monty, Coast of Utopia, Shrek, the Musical, Radio City Christmas, and Sinatra. Events clients include: The Salt Lake City Olympics, Ford, The Democratic and Republican conventions, Toyota-Lexus, Pfizer, MTV, Mercedes, VH1, Honda, McDonalds, Nissan-Infinity, Victoria’s Secret, General Motors, Chrysler, Glaxo, and Macy’s.
In his spare time, Jim restores early houses, collects and deals in American antiques, and is an active kayaker and outdoorsman.
