Joey Hopkins

Audio Sales Manager

Based in PRG’s Las Vegas office, Joey Hopkins provides audio support on local productions.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Joey grew up aspiring to be a musician. Like many with similar aspirations, he learned how to play the guitar in high school and was soon performing in local bands. One day while listening to a recording of himself, however, he decided he could go much further as an audio engineer.

To pursue his new dream, Joey attended the New York Institute of Technology on an Honor & Challenge scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication arts. He then pursued further training at New York’s Audio Recording Technical Institute, graduating with a certificate of completion in 1986.

In 1987, Joey moved to Las Vegas to become a technician for Nevada Audio Visual, where he quickly gained experience serving all aspects of the Las Vegas market, including ballrooms, showrooms, and convention centers. Not long after joining Nevada Audio Visual, Joey was serving as a show coordinator and audio designer and eventually ran the company’s audio department.

In 1992, Joey left Nevada Audio Visual to serve as an audio engineer for the famed Legends in Concert show on the strip. One year later, he accepted a position with the largest audio services company in Las Vegas, A1 Audio, as a monitor engineer. Joey remained with A1 throughout the 1990s, gaining experience as an engineer, operations manager, and rental salesman. In 1999, he was named general manager of the company, a position he held through the acquisition of A1 by PRG later that year.

When he’s not on the job, Joey enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife Shanda and two daughters Clarice & Elaine.
