Account Executive, Concert Touring
Based in PRG’s Burbank office, John Lee develops entertainment technology solutions for concert touring clients.
Born and raised in England, John started his career as a lighting technician and designer for some of the UK’s classic cult bands, including Captain Beefheart, Slade, and Ace. He also gained experience as the assistant lighting designer for Hawkwind’s liquid light show.
In 1976, John came to the U.S. to serve as a lighting designer on an Ace tour. After the tour was completed, he stayed in the U.S. to spend two years working for Supermick Lighting. He then spent the next 13 years in Electrotec’s lighting division, starting first as a shop foreman and then working his way up to the front office. In 1989, John was hired away to run T.A.S.C.O.’s U.S. lighting division and then continued running the operation after it was sold to A-1. In 2000, John joined PRG following PRG’s acquisition of A-1.
Since joining PRG, John has supported some of the best known acts in the music industry, including Aerosmith, Rod Stewart, Chicago, and Bruce Springsteen. Other major acts served by John during his career include Foreigner, Midnight Oil, the Boomtown Rats, the Commodores, Weather Report, the Beach Boys, Tom Petty, Bush, Velvet Revolver, Billy Idol, and Moby. One of the newer acts being supported by John is Franz Ferdinand.
When not on the job, John loves to play golf.
