Rob Tooker has served PRG since 1988. He has installed and programmed systems for such major projects as The Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, the Hard Rock Cafe in New York, the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Times Square, the Nokia Live Theatre in Dallas, and the theatres in four Holland America cruise ships. Some of Rob’s projects include system installations for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, Wisconsin, renovations of the historic Biltmore Theatre on Broadway, and lighting systems for the Sony Wonder Technology Lab and the USS Monitor Center at the Mariners’ Museum. He’s also been project manager for large television studio installations at the CNN NY Broadcast Center and NBC’s Today show.
In addition to installing permanent lighting systems, Rob has served as production electrician for a variety of fashion shows, including CFDA’s Seventh on Sale at the Lexington Avenue Armory, Seventh on Sixth in Bryant Park, and numerous other shows for such designers as Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi. He has also been production electrician for dozens of industrial events for clients such as Canon, Warnaco Industries, Sun Microsystems, Hasbro, Revlon, Saks Fifth Avenue, Grand Central Station, and MTV Networks/Nickelodeon. In the television market, he has been the gaffer for many programs, including the Swan’s Crossing series and episodes of American Playhouse on PBS.
Rob holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in lighting design from SUNY Purchase, and is a member of IATSE. He’s proud to be one of the first technicians to achieve certification as an ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician.
When not working, Rob is an avid hiker. He’s a member of the Catskill 3500 Club, and has completed extensive backpacking trips of the Grand Canyon and Glacier National Park.
