Based in PRG’s Los Angeles office, Tom Sorce oversees its operation and administration. He also plays a strategic role in advising on business development opportunities for the company.
Tom began his entertainment industry career in 1977, serving as a sound designer, production sound engineer, and front of house mixer for Broadway, concert touring, and casino acts throughout North America and in Europe.
In 1984, Tom joined Masque Sound as the senior vice president and general manager of Masque’s New York office. During the next 6 years, Tom grew that office’s annual revenues from $1 million to over $12 million and helped lead the company’s expansion into Florida and Arizona. While at Masque, Tom served as an audio consultant to the Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Shakespeare Festival, and many Broadway producers.
Tom became CEO of Los Angeles-based A-1 Audio & Lighting in 1997. During the next 3 years, Tom oversaw the turnaround, growth, and sale of A-1 to PRG. Following PRG’s acquisition of A-1 in 1999, Tom ran PRG’s west coast audio operations until taking a leave of absence in 2001 to get his masters in psychology from the University of Santa Monica. In early 2004, Tom returned to PRG as head of business development for the company’s audio group.
Tom received his undergraduate degree in arts and sciences from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas.
Tom is a member of IATSE locals 1 and 363.
When not on the job, Tom enjoys playing the piano and composing music, sailing, surfing, reading, and volunteering his time with youth groups.
