The PRG Riedel A32 system node allows PRG to provide production intercom with the greatest flexibility. This system includes everything a PL Engineer needs to begin building an intercom system for corporate industrials and special events. It provides the core building block to incorporate RTS two-wire intercom together with a wireless intercom rack containing either Telex BTR or HME Pro wireless intercom systems. Producers, stage managers, lighting designers, sound designers and all other operators have endless choices of how to communicate with all of the production staff when using this system.
The system includes:
MATRIX
The Riedel Artist 32 Matrix allows engineers to establish multiple conferences, point-to-point and point-to-output scenarios. This allows for traditional intercom conferences such as Production, Audio, Lighting, Cameras and so on. In addition, it allows for point-to-point communications between two users with either a master station or digital belt-pack, allowing these users to communicate directly without other users listening to them. It also allows point-to-output from any user on the digital system allowing for a VOG or SA output fed directly from the microphone already on their user panel. This is also useful for IFB applications where a director may need to talk directly to talent or to a bandleader. This could also be used for a bandleader to have a control panel with intercom functions to talk to the stage manager and audio engineer and allow the audio engineer to route a fold back mix back thru the system and provide the bandleader a control system (similar to Aviom) where he can mix his own sound and incorporate the intercom in his ears.
INTERFACE
The Riedel Artist 32 system includes a two-wire to four-wire interface to allow 10 channels of analog two-wire intercom to be integrated into the digital matrix system in its current configuration. This allows users who may only require one or two channels of intercom to stay on a traditional analog 2-channel belt-pack (such as RTS BP-325 or Clear-Com RS-602). This also allows the system engineer to interface with an in-house intercom system if it makes more sense to use venue cabling to followspots, house light control or dressing rooms that are pre-wired. The rack provides the choice of either RTS or Clear-Com for this interface connection.
WIRELESS INTERCOM
The Artist 32 system allows for a connection to any wireless intercom system that accepts a four-wire connection. Cable infrastructure is included to route a Whirlwind W2-20 pair cable from the A32 rack to a wireless PL Rack for quick set-up. This cable and connection allows for multiple wireless base stations to be integrated as needed. It allows the PL engineer to program one system to have Production/Stage Managers, the next system to have Production/Audio, another system to have Production/Lighting or however your production needs them assigned.
DIGITAL 2-WIRE
The Artist 32 system incorporates a C-44 plus interface, allowing the deployment of the Riedel C3 digital belt-packs. These allow similar function to a typical analog two-wire belt-pack (RTS BP-325 or Clear-Com RS-602); however, unlike these packs each C3 can be addressed like the master panels. Each stream can be assigned to contain either two conferences or a conference and a point to point. The applications are only limited by what the user and engineer come up with. Again, these packs could have either channel routed to an audio output allowing a stage manager to have an SA output directly from these packs.
