PRG team, together with PRG Alliance member Easy Group, supported Cameroon in celebrating the opening of the African Nations Championship.

The first large scale sports ceremony since March 2020 took place last Saturday, 16th January 2021 - the opening for the 6th edition of the African Nations Championship, the biennial football tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The tournament was a long-anticipated event. Cameroon presented a spectacular show, with production by Leap Creative Studio from France. The show took place in the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé where than 300 artists, dancers, performers, cultural references and Cameroonian singers, all wearing masks, performed in front of an audience of 10,000 people, a quarter of the stadium's capacity.

The producers sourced the services of Production Resource Group (PRG) to deliver the communication and playback sound systems, while our local PRG Alliance partner, Easy Group, built the central stage, provided tents and other logistical material needed. The companies also provided the technical team necessary for the installation and rapid dismantling of the scenic elements in place for the first match of the championship, Cameroon-Zimbabwe, which occurred right after the opening ceremony and led to the victory of the host country.

PRG, in cooperation with other service providers, ensured a flawless show with safe operation. The team will be back for the closing ceremonies on February 7th.

With this championship, Cameroon is showing the world that it is ready to host an even bigger event, the African Cup of Nations in 2022.
