Pokémon World Championships Yokohama: PRG's Global Spectacle of Technical Brilliance and Collaborative Excellence

The Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama came to life thanks to the exceptional pre-production and production between our clients Exponex s.r.o. T.T.G. (The Trade Group Company) and the PRG.

During this spectacular event, Yokohama underwent a captivating transformation into a vibrant world of Pikachu and Pokémon. It hosted elite players from the realms of video games, card games, Pokémon Go, and Pokémon Unite, who engaged in intense competition from August 11 to 13.

Following four full days and nights of setup and one dedicated day of rehearsals, the event finally opened its doors, drawing an audience of 12,000 attendees each day. The event was also livestreamed worldwide, a worldwide success attracting millions of enthusiastic visitors.

The collaborative efforts of PRG Belgium, PRG Japan, and PRG UK were key to the event's success. Covering an area equivalent to four football pitches, the combined team deployed a crew of 1800 assemblers on-site to handle the installation and dismantling of the production. This massive setup featured a colossal 60M x 4.5M suspended 3mm LED screen with stage mapping, using six 31K projectors. In addition, 500 automated spotlights illuminated the event, while six Linearray (L-Acoustic) sound systems delivered top-notch audio. A total of 250 talkies were employed for communications, among numerous other impressive elements. The event was a true testament to the collaborative spirit and technical excellence of the PRG teams from various regions.

We would like to thank our client Exponex s.r.o. and The Trade Group for their trust, their sense of team spirit and their kindness. We've been working hand in hand for over 10 years now and hope to see them again soon to tackle some new exciting challenges.
