#PRGSummerOfMusic 2022
SUMMER vibe at the PRG Summer of Music in Europe! And it was one hell of a summer!
From Parklife and Lollapalooza Berlin to Sziget and Way Out West, Zara Larsson is taking her live show to 21 festival stages across 17 countries this summer, supported by a lighting and video package from PRG.
A festival run of that scale presents a particular production challenge. The stages, infrastructure and environments may change from one show to the next, but the creative identity of the performance needs to remain consistent throughout.
For Lighting Designer Tyler Santangelo, Creative Producer Sam Paine and the team at Early Bird Visual, that called for a touring solution capable of adapting to each festival while providing a consistent creative foundation wherever the show lands.
Working closely with PRG Account Manager Ben Holdsworth, the team shaped a lighting and video package around the demands of the design and the realities of a summer spent moving between festival stages across Europe.
The touring lighting package features GLP JDC1s, CHAUVET Professional COLORado PXL Curve 12s and Vari-Lite VL3600 Profile IPs, bringing together a versatile selection of fixtures capable of delivering the scale and impact required for Zara Larsson's festival performances.
Control comes from grandMA3 full size desks, providing a familiar environment for the team throughout the run.
Rather than relying entirely on the production infrastructure available at each festival, the touring package gives the creative team a consistent set of tools around which the show can be built. It can then be integrated with the wider systems at each destination, allowing the design to respond to different stages without losing the visual language established for the tour.
PRG is also supporting the video requirements for the European run, bringing lighting and video together within the wider touring package.
That flexibility becomes particularly important across a schedule spanning 21 festivals and 17 countries. With each show presenting a different set of technical parameters, the package is designed to give the Early Bird Visual team the foundation they need to adapt while keeping the creative vision at the centre of the production.
From the UK to Germany, Hungary, Sweden and beyond, the result is a touring solution built for a summer on the move, supporting the team as Zara Larsson's show reaches festival audiences across Europe.
