Blackmagic Design unites live solutions for Reggae Land 2026

Blackmagic Design has announced that live production specialists oXyFire Media and dwmedia collaborated to deliver livestream coverage of Reggae Land 2026’s main stage, while live event production company PRG handled IMAG for festivalgoers. Blackmagic Design technology formed a core part of the shared production workflow, allowing the teams to exchange camera feeds and signals across both productions.

Staged at The National Bowl Milton Keynes, the production covered a large festival site, requiring long cable and fiber runs back to the OB trucks. Front of house was also split, with sound on one side of the stage and video, graphics and lighting on the other.

Camera positions were carefully planned, with three Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 cameras stationed front of house: one as a roving camera moving between the pit and stage, a 24 foot jib mounted camera for sweeping and top down shots, and a long lens unit at the back of the crowd for long and wide shots.

The livestream OB trucks and IMAG production area were only 10 meters apart backstage, but their systems also had to exchange signals across the site. A 24 core multicore fiber link connected the two production areas, with Blackmagic Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12Gs providing the connection between the fiber infrastructure and SDI equipment.

PRG shared nine additional live feeds with the livestream production, supplementing its own camera positions and giving both productions access to more angles without duplicating cameras. An ATEM Constellation 8K live production switcher handled vision mixing and helped link the two systems, with sources and tally shared between them while each production component retained its own workflow.

The livestream extended the reach of Reggae Land’s main stage performances to a further 1.2 million viewers across YouTube, Instagram and Facebook during the three day festival.
