Green Initiatives: PRG's Commitment to Environmental Sustainability

Production Resource Group (Ltd) recognises the requirements of its clients and potential clients with regards to sustainability and its responsibilities to the environment. All staff and contractors are expected to follow the principles of this policy and related guidance, and to assist PRG in meeting its objectives.

100% renewable energy suppliers

PRG only use 100% renewable energy from Pozitive Energy LTD. As a result, you can be safe in the knowledge that our impact on the environment is mitigated through energy schemes such as wind, solar or ground source. Through our energy supplier we also offset our carbon emissions by contributing to local and national regeneration schemes, for example the refurbishment of parks, conservation areas and forest regeneration.

Supply Chain Monitoring And Waste Types

As an equipment rental company, it is at the core of PRG’s business strategy that we reuse and recycle our assets to maximize their optimum operational life. Beyond this cycle, PRG resells assets into the used equipment market, allowing third
parties to continue the asset's operational life. The primary waste for PRG are broken or blown light bulbs (lamps) which are returned to the PRG facility for disposal.

Environment

Production Resource Group has implemented a company-wide Green Policy to minimize the impact of its operations on the environment. This Green Policy includes the following systems, practices and procedures:

Recycling of general waste including paper, cardboard cartons, aluminum cans, glass, and plastic containers. PRG maintains separate containers for the collection of these items.
Recycling of scrap metal from PRG's lighting, audio, video and scenic operations. PRG. periodically collects this material and delivers it to salvage yards where it can be melted down and reprocessed for re-use. Recycling of bulbs and other expendable items that contain environmentally hazardous chemicals.

Recycling of used equipment to extend the lives of these durable items.

Minimizing electricity consumption through the efficient design of shop power distribution systems and the use of LED lighting fixtures, motion sensors, and programmable heating & air conditioning systems.

Replaced and Upgraded CRT monitors to new low power Energy efficient LCD monitors in Fixed and Rentals operations.

Reduce Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in manufacturing and rental operations.

Minimizing fuel consumption through careful planning and management of logistics. This includes combining orders on trucks whenever possible and transferring inventory between depots to minimize long-distance LTL deliveries.

Utilizing paperless systems whenever possible for processing bids, notices, purchase orders and invoices. Using Environment friendly products and practices in the manufacture and maintenance of our products.

Reducing cycle/test times of equipment to lower electrical consumption while increasing Quality employing new innovative testing and equipment handling equipment. Suggesting substitution of more energy-efficient technologies in place of requested technologies whenever the substitutions can fulfill clients’ performance objectives.

Spearheading the introduction of new green technologies to the marketplace (ex:Digital Lighting, LED fixtures, Fox & Nila).

PRG’s Innovation to Achieve Sustainable Goals

From our earliest years, PRG has been committed to product innovation. We have over 250+ issued patents and over 100 registered trade marks, all designed by our own Research and Development department, PRG Innovation.

PRG Innovation's mission is to advance creative possibilities, promote sustainability and deliver economy in all forms of entertainment and live events. Our work is driven by an understanding of customer need, based on hands-on experience in countless productions.

Below are some examples of PRG innovations that resulted in significant carbon footprint reduction and cost savings in the events and entertainment industry.

PRG GroundControl Followspot System

Winner of an Engineering Emmy award, this is a family of products that allow Followspot lights to be remotely controlled, resulting in efficiencies in overall weight, minimizing seat kills, reducing the amount of crew onsite to operate the followspots (one GroundControl System can operate multiple followspots) and allowing followspots to be positioned almost anywhere.

PRG SpaceFrame®

This is a touring frame design that seamlessly integrates LED panels for efficiency and maximum creative possibility. Its ultra-light carbon fiber construction is collapsible, fully wind-braced and it is 10 times stronger than conventionally fabricated frames. It reduces truck space by approximately 35 percent, reduces fuel consumption due to its light weight, and it is designed to be climbable for faster deployment and a safer work environment.

LED Broadcast Lighting

For the Pan American Games in Lima, PRG utilized a LED Lighting for the temporary overlay in the Field of Play. LED lights have lower power consumption and more efficient than tungsten lighting options. They emit less heat than other lighting options and they also have a longer shelf live, proving to be a more durable option.
