Innovative technology for the Volvo V60 Roadshow

PRG toured several German cities during the Volvo Roadshow 2018 in June, where Volvo presented its latest V60 model.

The heart of the roadshow was a central stage, on which a 70m² vertically movable 3.9mm LED wall covered the new Volvo until the final, when the wall moved upwards to present the new V60 to enthusiastic roadshow participants. In addition to this special construction, PRG also supplied the lighting, sound and video technology incl. rigging. There were also eight theme islands around the central stage, where participants could experience different aspects of the new Volvo V60.

PRG Senior Account Manager Michael Ebinger says, “In contrast to a single automotive event, a roadshow requires much more complex logistics. Due to the deadlines, you only have very short set-up and dismantling times and are even in use with two sets at the same time. It is also important to take into account the particular differences in the individual locations – because no location is the same. For rigging, especially in Hamburg, the Schuppen 52 was faced with the challenge that the roof load of the shed 52 could not be tolerated, so everything had to be installed via ground support.“

The creative concept for this Roadshow originated from the DO IT! agency, PRG participated in the technical development at an early stage in order to optimally implement the customer’s wishes in close cooperation with DO IT! and the corresponding specialist planners. Joachim Prott (Plan-Union GmbH), Technical Manager for the Do It agency said, “This is the second Roadshow that we have carried out for Volvo with PRG. I am very happy to be working with the same team again, also against the backdrop of the challenges we have faced, and in general about the very, very good cooperation.“ At the end of the Roadshow, Volvo itself was very satisfied with the overall result: “We have received a lot of positive feedback for the event series. ”
