PRG's contribution at COP28!

COP28 – Everyone united, everyone acted, everyone delivered, and we are PRG Proud to have been a cog in an immense wheel that will drive real change toward our planet.

For more than a year, PRG has worked closely with Identity as a technology partner for various areas within the Blue Zone. Team PRG was responsible for the delivery of audio-visual equipment for LCAS Main Room, LCAS Lounge, Bilat Rooms, Press Conference, UNSG Meeting Room, UNSG Office, Presidency Office and Handshake area.

The COP28 Local Climate Action Summit (LCAS) is a first-of-its-kind Summit hosted by a COP Presidency in recognition of the critical role local leaders play in reducing emissions, addressing climate risk, and supercharging national efforts to move further and faster on climate progress.

From the Opening Ceremony which saw a public address from HRH Mohamed Bin Zayed, His Majesty King Charles III, and Antonio Guterres, LCAS staged more than 44 events that led to landmark decisions and initiatives focused on the Global Cooling Pledge, Ocean Breakthroughs, COP28 climate action partnerships,  Alliance of Champions for Food Systems and Transformation (ACF), as well as many more.

Dr Sultan Al Jaber, COP28 President said, “We delivered world first after world first…A global goal to triple renewables and double energy efficiency. Declarations on agriculture, food and health. More oil and gas companies stepping up for the first time on methane and emissions. And we have language on fossil fuels in our final agreement.”

Terence Collings, Senior Project Manager from PRG commented, “It’s been a pleasure to work alongside Simon Jones and his technical team. You can see the breadth and depth of scale across the event and the detail that has been driven throughout. The team at Identity has been wonderful to collaborate with and we are proud to have been involved in such a well-organised, world-class event that has seen some fantastic outcomes across the 12 days of sessions which drew a final conclusion with nearly 200 countries agreeing to a deal that calls for a transition on fossil fuels.”
