- Visually, the Big Ass Tour features bold architectural staging with a playful, honky-tonk edge. The set features industrial textures, geometric forms and raw materials that evoke both a modern urban landscape and the rugged Americana of Post Malone's recent country-tinged music.
- In collaboration with PRG Scenic and PRG Projects, we fabricated two identical Posty Co. signs and the tours scenic build which featured 500 meters of LED tape and 150 LED nodes integrated into the signs, as well as nearly 100 sheets of perforated metal with roughly 450,000 holes.
- The lighting package included a 1,000+ fixture lighting rig with PRG's GroundControl Followspot System, Acme Pixel Line IPs, Astera Titan Tubes, GLP JDC Burst 1s, and Vari-Lite VL3600s.
- The massive LED package, integrated into the scenic design, included over 500 Infiled Titan X tiles, side walls, header screens and custom signage—all processed via Novastar and Brompton systems.
GroundControl® Followspot System
Winner of an Engineering Emmy® award, this is a family of products scalable to all venue sizes and types. Followspots can be remotely controlled from as far as 2,000 ft resulting in safer conditions for operators, reductions in rigging weight, minimizing seat kills, and allowing followspots to be positioned almost anywhere.
Technical characteristics and features
With the GroundControl® (GC) Followspot System, the operator is located away from the luminaire, making the required physical footprint significantly smaller than conventional followspots. Because of this small footprint and low weight, followspots can now be placed in a wide variety of positions. The system features a built-in HD Camera with night vision mode to enable operators to pick up a performer on a virtually black stage.
- Works with PRG proprietary fixtures — Bad Boy, Best Boy HP, Best Boy LED.
- Can also be used with PRG’s Long Throw™, an advanced automated followspot, designed specifically for long throw applications.
- PRG has modified fixtures from other manufacturers, including Martin, Ayrton, Vari-lite, Elation and Robe, to be compatible with GroundControl.
- GroundControl® 4-Way Switch lets users switch between up to four luminaires from one controller.
- GroundControl® Multi newest member of the product family, enables control and tracking of up to 100 luminaires by a single GroundControl Controller.
