After more than three decades of defining modern country music, Alan Jackson closed the curtain on his touring career with Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale, a sold-out celebration at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.

The milestone production is the focus of a new feature in the August issue of Projection, Lights & Staging News (PLSN), where Production Designer and Lighting Designer Mason Felps and Lighting Designer Tom Sutherland share how they created a stadium-scale design that reflected Jackson’s timeless style while supporting a nationally televised broadcast.

PRG supplied the production’s lighting systems, including an extensive VL5 wash package, custom control solutions, and additional lighting support that helped realize the design. The article also highlights the close collaboration between the creative, production, engineering, and vendor teams that brought one of country music’s most significant farewell performances to life.

For this show, PRG deployed:

• 1,181 lighting fixtures
• 156 pieces of truss
• 158 motor hoists
• 2,171 chesboros (swivel, rigid, and half)
• 1,491 shackles
• 352 pipes

Connecting it all required:

• Over 68,900 feet of data cable (more than 13 miles)
• Over 28,800 feet of Socapex (5.5 miles)
• Nearly 18,700 feet of feeder/camlok cable (3.5 miles)
• More than 11,100 feet of True1 cable (2.1 miles)

Lawrence “Filet” Mignogna, PRG Account Executive, explains that PRG’s involvement extended well beyond the impressive lighting equipment rental. The team provided lighting, LED screens, rigging, rehearsal facilities, and technical planning to support Felps’ creative vision. He highlights the complexity of integrating nearly 400 Pixel Lines with PRG’s VL5 wash fixtures and other lighting systems, requiring extensive configuration and engineering. Mignogna also emphasizes the importance of assembling the right people early, supporting rehearsals at PRG’s Starwood facility, and working closely with the production team to ensure every technical element was in place before the show reached Nashville.
